It took a leap of faith after the change in management at Sausalito Pet Hotel. All we knew was that a "husband-wife" team took over the dog hotel in the early months of 2010. I'll admit I was hesitant to leave our our beloved, 3 year old Collie named Polo for the first time with James & Becky.
For a 'trial' I brought Polo in for Day Care. It worked smoothly. I would drop Polo off in the morning and she seemed happy when I picked her up on the same day.
Then, my husband and I had to leave her for 5 nights! This would be the first overnight with the 'new team'. Yes, I was nervous and admit I called a couple of times and sent emails just to make sure all was well.
Upon picking her up - I was thrilled when I first saw her. Her coat looked beautiful. Becky & James had given her a bath on pick up day and even clipped her nails, perfectly. Our Collie was not stressed and she seemed happy but not overly hyped up to see us! But, what was really great was when 'the team' showed us the downloaded pictures on their PC of the hikes they took with our Collie. There she was, in Fort Baker, the Headlands, and she looked so happy and relaxed with the team.
Thank you Sausalito Pet Hotel. You went way beyond my expectations for overnight care of our dog. Your facility is comfortable, clean, and creatively laid out. But, most Important, our dog, Polo, still LOVES this place as much as ever and maybe even more...

I was lucky enough to find the Sausalito Pet Hotel (yhet were recommended to me by a Sausalito day care that required a pre-visit) even though I was traveling all the way from Austin, Texas. My husband and I were going somewhere (in Sausalito) that does not allow pets. Dealing with them on the phone was a genuine pleasure, but the real experience was when we arrived. After flying from Texas, our beloved Dachsund, Pilgrim was very sick from eating chips of a marrow bone (my fault). I was so worried, I spoke with two vets. It was a Saturday. My husband and I went to the area of the Pet Hotel and just hung around trying to decide what we should do. The Sausalito Pet Hotel let us wait until the last possible minute on Saturday afternoon. And we bought our dog chicken and steamed rice to eat. Sausalito Pet Hotel was so gentle and kind, even while I was unreasonably worried. When I finally left Pilgrim, I felt like he was with the only person I could leave him with, considering the situation. The hotel was incredible! It was so comfortable and clean and beautiful! All of the dogs seemed so happy! When I picked him up three days later, he had had a lovely spa treatment/bath at the spa. He was so happy, silky and wearing a turquoise bandana. I don't know who had a better vacation, Pilgrim or us!!
